When is the sale?
Our annual rhizome sale always takes place the third weekend in July. This year, the sale will start on Friday, July 26th at Noon. It takes awhile to put in all the inventory. To keep things fair, any orders received before noon, will be returned. The sale is available until stock runs out. The sale is always conducted online via our Etsy store - https://www.etsy.com/shop/stormyweatheriris What if I want to pick up my order and not pay for shipping? If you live in the Lynchburg area and want to pick up your order, you will need to put - FREESHIP - as your coupon code. We will email you via Etsy within 24 hours of placing your order with pick-up date options. Orders will only be available for pick up on those dates. Please make sure to check your Etsy messages. If you arrangements aren't made to pick up your order, or you don't pick up your order on your chosen pick-up date/time, your order will be refunded and irises returned to stock. Do you ship orders outside of Virginia? Though we are state licensed and inspected, we do not ship outside Virginia. We would love to, but where we are based (in Virginia) is currently in quarantine due to the Spotted Lanternfly. Because of this, we have opted to limit ourselves to Virginia residents only. Are your irises guaranteed? I guarantee our irises for 30 days. Each iris you received is guaranteed to be healthy. We clean and disinfect all irises before shipping and provide you with growing tips and suggestions. When planted correctly, the irises should take root within 2-3 weeks at most. We don't guarantee for a longer period because there are some who would wait to plant, not take care of their irises, etc., causing the iris to die, and then want a refund. How do you determine the cost of your irises? We have always sold our irises for $7 each. That may change in the future, but for now, it's easier to keep each variety at one set price. A look online will show you that many of the varieties that we sell are selling for higher prices elsewhere. That doesn't mean our irises are inferior, quite the contrary. Each iris you receive will be of good size and healthy. Will my iris bloom next spring? I hope so! Most varieties do bloom their first year. However, lack of sun, etc., can cause an iris not to bloom. Sometimes it takes a year/two for the iris to get established and bloom. I have had one iris that took four years to bloom... Other things to know: When you receive your order, you will notice that some rhizomes are larger than others. This is because each variety grows differently. I make a practice of not selling small rhizomes. It's very hard to get them to grow, and most don't bloom the first year. Though each rhizome size may vary, I only sell rhizomes that I feel are large enough to get a good start and take to the soil well. The cost of shipping this year is $8.95
